There has been great controversy regarding wizards and muggles in cohabitation in the Muggle world, but short of mass killings, wizards have become quite adept at conforming to Muggle rules of society whilst living amongst them. What is to be said about Muggles living in the wizarding world? There seems to be some dissension amongst the ranks from within the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry concerning this very subject. Names are being withheld for obvious reasons, but here are the views from some of the students and staff at the school: “I’ve never cared for Muggles much. They don’t seem any more intelligent than the dumbest magical creature. I am quite angry that there are Muggles living within the walls of Hogwarts. I’m considering a transfer to a different wizarding school…one that wouldn’t dream of allowing Muggles to live there”. - First Year Student “Muggles are just people like we are. I don’t understand what all the fuss is all about. Seeing as we are expected to live as if we were a Muggle outside of the school, I find it hypocritical to judge a person based on whether they can perform witchcraft or not”. – Student, Year withheld “I have lived with Muggles and I have lived with Wizards. Neither group has any more intelligence than the other. I’d rather live amongst the forest creatures” - Professor, Name withheld. “I have a Muggle friend that I have know for what seems like forever. This person understands me better than any witch or wizard ever did. I think if we could all get along like my friend and I do, the entire world would be a better place to live” - Professor, Name withheld “Muggles make life for a wizard harder than it needs be. Personally, I would colonize them instead of living my life as a lie” - Student, Year withheld “If I were to even mention that there are Muggles in this school, my punishment would be severe. I shudder to think of what’s going to happen when my parents find out” - Student, First Year “I like having these Muggles here. It breaks up the monotony that is the wizard’s world. If I had a choice in the matter, I would live with Muggles all of the time. They don’t care so much about O.W.L.S. or wizarding protocol, but I’d be hanged if I ever let on that I can’t stand being a wizard” - Student, Upper class “It should be a choice for a wizard to communicate with a muggle. The world needs one less thing to be angry about” - Professor, Name withheld. These are honest answers. Muggles and Wizards cohabitating has been one of the foremost controversial issues that our world has had to face. The fear associated with Muggles in general alters the entire existence of Wizards. This reporter is no exception. Therefore, I am withholding my name as well. The fallout that would occur from my own opinion being one of neutral status would, in fact, ostracize me from my own family. This reporter wonders if that would even be such a bad thing. – Reporter, Name withheld.--- |
